ResurFX suits men and women who want to address stretch marks or uneven skin texture. Examples include lines on the abdomen after pregnancy, stretch marks on the thighs or buttocks, and fine lines on the backs of the hands. We assess the area you want to focus on.
Stretch marks develop when the skin’s supporting structure changes, for example during growth, pregnancy or changes in body size. ResurFX delivers targeted heat to small treatment points, stimulating collagen renewal in the marks and surrounding skin.
Scar tissue has a different structure from the surrounding skin. This can make an area feel uneven or firm. The fractional laser targets the texture of this tissue and its transition into the surrounding skin.
Fine lines and changes in skin texture can be especially visible on the backs of the hands. The targeted hand treatment stimulates collagen formation in this area and addresses skin texture.
The abdomen and buttocks each have their own treatment option. During your appointment, we define which parts of the chosen area to focus on. With stretch marks, the location of the lines guides treatment; with an area treatment, we assess the selected skin area as a whole.

THE TECHNOLOGY BEHIND THE TREATMENT
How does ResurFX M22 work?
ResurFX uses a laser with a wavelength of 1565 nanometres. Energy is distributed across very small treatment points. Heat is generated in the deeper skin layers, activating natural renewal and collagen formation.
The skin between the treatment points remains available for recovery. Non-ablative means the laser does not vaporise the outer skin layer. Improvement develops through gradual renewal of the skin structure.
The laser treats a pattern of small points rather than the entire skin surface at once. The size, density and energy of this pattern can be adjusted to the area and the treatment goal.
CoolScan distributes the laser points in a controlled sequence, so heat does not repeatedly build up in the same place. The tip cools the skin surface during contact. The handpiece combines targeted energy with cooling.

During treatment
The handpiece is placed on successive parts of the skin. You feel warmth and short sensations as the laser applies its fractional pattern. Contact cooling works throughout this step.

Review & follow-up
After treatment, we provide skincare and guidance for home. Collagen renewal continues in the following weeks. A series of appointments gives your skin time to recover and rebuild between sessions.

Skin renewal develops gradually, so appointments in a series are spaced out. The thigh and lower-back examples on this page had one month between sessions. We use the skin’s progress to plan follow-up visits.
ResurFX uses a fractional laser for skin texture and collagen renewal. IPL uses broad-spectrum light to address colour differences such as pigmentation and visible redness. They are two different handpieces on the M22 platform, each with its own application.

For skin texture, Lumenis generally describes three to five treatments, spaced four to five weeks apart. We plan follow-up visits around the selected body area and your main concern. The options here are individual treatments.
Collagen renewal continues after your appointment. Changes in skin texture develop over the following weeks and months. The after photos on this page were taken nine weeks after one treatment or three months after a series of three sessions.
You feel short sensations and warmth as the laser delivers energy. The cooled contact tip simultaneously cools the skin surface. The sensation differs between a small area and a larger treatment area.
Use gentle cleansing and a moisturising cream. Protect treated skin exposed to daylight with sun protection. During your appointment, we explain how to care for your skin in the first days and when to resume your usual skincare products.

Both can work fractionally. ResurFX is non-ablative: it does not vaporise the outer skin layer. An ablative CO₂ laser removes small columns of skin tissue. ResurFX stimulates renewal through heat within the skin.
