THE TECHNOLOGY BEHIND THE TREATMENT
How does HIFU work on the body?
HIFU stands for High-Intensity Focused Ultrasound. The handpiece concentrates ultrasound energy at selected depths beneath the skin. Heat is generated at these small focal points to treat the collagen-rich supporting tissue responsible for firmness.
Tissue renewal continues after the treatment, so skin tightening develops gradually. The cartridge and settings are selected according to the treatment area and tissue thickness.
The cartridge determines the depth at which energy is focused. Skin on the backs of the hands requires a different approach from tissue on the legs. We therefore select the depth and treatment pattern for each area.
Ultrasound energy is focused into small thermal points at selected depths. Treatment stimulates collagen renewal and supports skin firmness. These four services focus on the skin of the abdomen, legs, knees or hands.

Skin assessment & preparation
We assess the booked area, discuss your skin and mark the treatment zone. Ultrasound gel then ensures good contact between the skin and the handpiece.

Targeted HIFU pulses
We move systematically across the area to deliver the pulses. You feel brief warmth, tingling or pressure. Settings are tailored to the area and your comfort.

Aftercare & renewal
Afterwards, we remove the gel and explain your aftercare. Collagen renewal continues after the session, allowing skin firmness to develop gradually.

Choose the leg treatment if your concern is the skin on your legs. The knee treatment is a separate, targeted option for the skin around the knees, allowing you to book the appropriate area in advance.
Choose the abdomen appointment for skin firmness in the abdominal area. For your hands, choose treatment of the backs of the hands. The leg and knee options focus on their respective areas. During the appointment, we discuss which part of the selected area to address.

The options on this page are individual treatments. After the first session, allow time for collagen formation. Further treatment is based on changes in your skin and the area you want to maintain.
When energy is delivered, you feel short warm prickles or deeper pressure. The sensation varies by area. Tell the practitioner how it feels during the session so the application can be adapted to your comfort.
You can usually resume your daily activities. Your skin may temporarily be red, slightly swollen or sensitive. Keep your skin care gentle and follow the advice provided about heat and sun protection.
The treated area may feel firmer shortly after your appointment. Further changes develop gradually as collagen forms. Assess the effect over the following weeks and months, for example using photos taken from the same angle and in the same light.
